The State Commandant, Patrick Tutor, Installed the new Detachment Commandant, Dick Caron in a formal swearing in ceremony at the meeting. Dan Dye, Past Commandant handed over the reins to Dick after performing his last official act as Commandant - Commandant Dye presented James "Wes" Hill with the Detachment Marine of the Year Medal and Certificate. Wes is to be congratulated for his untiring effort in demonstrating honor, integrity, and devotion to the USA, the Marine Corps, the Marine Corps League and the Community. Commandant Caron discussed presenting a local business with an official MCL "Flag Certificate" for their flying of the American Flag predominately and holding a formal ceremony for this presentation at the buisness with Detachment members and (hopefully) the press there. State Commandant Pat Tutor gave the Detachment an overview of what was presented at the National Convention from which he had just traveled home that day.
